APOGEE Insight
Insight (of the APOGEE framework) is Siemens' legacy platform that has been aggressively phased out in replacement by Desigo CC. As of 2/1/2022, Siemens has officially ended all support for Insight, putting customers in a tough position.

By the end of its lifetime, Insight was rock solid and time-tested. Simple, predictable, and reliable. Unfortunately, Insight suffered from being designed in an era pre-integration and open-source.
Desigo CC
Desigo CC is an operator interface made for the U.S. market from Siemens' European Desigo platform. It is a drastic departure from the Insight front-end it replaced, making for a very painful transition.

The rollout of Desigo in the U.S. was...less than ideal. The products (copy/pasted from Europe) were poorly designed, and the training was pitiful. Still worse, the documentation for Desigo is abysmal.
Hardware/Controllers
From the start, Siemens hardware was phenomenal. Superior reliability, performance, and flexibility allowed Siemens to dominate market share as the digital age began to mature.

Due to lack of advancements and updates, these controllers (PXC, TEC), once hailed as a golden standard, began to fall behind the times. While these workhorses are still amazingly capable, they don't support many of the modern BAS features that now come standard.
